Professional Standards for BC educators were updated by the BC Teachers’ Council in 2019. They apply to all certificate-holding teachers, principals/vice principals, directors of instruction, and superintendents/assitant superintendents. They’re very important and are non-negotiable standards to which all these educators are held accountable. They’re not just for teachers new to the profession – they’re for all of us. However, they don’t necessarily end up on everyone’s daily reading list (…although perhaps they should be?!).
